Capital, Wilmington Favored To Win OAC

Capital's men's basketball team and the Wilmington women have been selected as the favorites to win Ohio Conference championships this season.

The Crusaders, who finished second in the league last season, lead the coaches poll with eight of ten first-place votes and 80 votes overall, seven more than Ohio Northern. The Polar Bears received the other two first-place votes.

Defending NCAA Division Three champion Otterbein, which also won the OAC regular-season and tournament titles last season, placed third with 62 votes. The Cardinals are second and Ohio Northern third in the media poll.

Wilmington won the women's title last season with a 17-1league record and was 28-2 overall. The Quakers lead Baldwin-Wallace and Capital in both the coaches and media polls.
