Bearcats Win Opener As Huggins Returns To Court
November 15, 2002

Field Williams hit six three-pointers and scored a game-high 24 points, leading 23rd-ranked Cincinnati to an 80-62 victory over a winless Athletes In Action team.

Bearcats coach Bob Huggins, who suffered a heart attack on September 28th, was as animated as usual and drew his first technical foul of the season.

He argued a five-second call in the opening minute and got a technical for protesting a foul called on Cincinnati's Jason Maxiell late in the first half.

Williams sank five three-pointers in the first half, when he scored 21 of Cincinnati's 39 points. Williams, a three-point specialist, made five of his six shots in the half, which ended with the Bearcats ahead 39-33.

Athletes in Action was led by Casey Shaw's 20 points.
