Cincinnati Mayor Warns Of Layoffs
November 15, 2002

Cincinnati Mayor Charlie Luken is warning that budget cuts could lead to the layoffs of up to 100 city employees.

He says the cuts are most likely to affect white-collar workers.

Luken wouldn't name any specific departments but several have narrowly escaped cuts before, including environmental management, cable communications and planning departments.

The proposed city budget is expected to be introduced in two weeks.
