Clarett Says He’ll Be In Lineup Saturday
November 21, 2002

Maurice Clarett promised to be in Ohio State's lineup against Michigan. Whether the freshman running back will actually play Saturday is unknown.

Clarett has been struggling to recover from a shoulder injury that has limited his play in the Buckeyes' last three games.

Michigan coach Lloyd Carr was asked if he thought Clarett would play Saturday.

Carr says he's too smart to think that Clarett won't play.

Before being injured, Clarett had almost 1,000 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns in seven games.

Clarett also missed one game early in the season after arthroscopic knee surgery.

After last week's overtime victory against Illinois, Clarett made it clear what he thought of the Michigan game.

He said he would play even if he was only 20 percent healthy.
